This scavenger hunt was by far the most fun activity that I believe we have done in Honors English thus far this year. I really made me look deep down inside myself to the qualities that I possess and the qualities that I wish to possess. I thought the scavenger hunt was a brilliant idea because it made us search high and low to find those qualitie. I believe that most of the time that is what we have to do to find the qualities inside ourselves, but often times we are too shy or too busy to look for them ourselves so we need aid to help us. The eight medicines that i chose to find to help me along my path of the hero journey were Courage, Compassion, Joy, Faith, Heart, Perseverance, Selflessness, and Strength. I think that with all of these medicines combined a well rounded person is created and that is my ultimate goal; to be a well rounded person who is happy with who she is. I think the one medicine that I need the most is selflessness though because I always seem to have a hard time doing things for others without benefiting myself in some way. All the other medicines I would say I possess somewhat right now but I very much want to grow strong in them.

So this post is pretty random but I was listening to my iPod the other day and this song came on and i hadn’t heard it in a while. I was just thinking everytime I have a bad day or get a bad grade or make a mistake I need to remind myself that I’m only HUMAN and I can’t always help it.

So I’m not going to say a lot about this movie other than that I think all of you should see it if you have not yet. There is good reason that this movie won so many awards. I saw the movie last night and I thought it was absolutely amazing. I hope that all of you take my advice and go see it.

This weekend I decided that since we had a four day weekend then I would go and spend the weekend up at Notre Dame with my sister. The weekend was very action packed and fun despite the fact that my sister ditched me for a date to a Chicago Blackhawks game on Valentine’s day. Oh well I didn’t mind because I got to have a date with Jon Mclaughlin at his concert, which was free! He is so amazing live and the room that the concert was in was so small that it didn’t matter where you stood because you could always see everything. Oh and did I mention that Jon walked like a foot from me…I thought I was going to faint. That night was possibly one of the greatest nights ever. I had an amazing weekend and it was really fun to hang out with my sister and all her friends. Now I’m looking forward to Kairos this week!

So my sisiter told me that I needed to watch this youtube video and so I did. It is so funny. It puts a whole new meaning to “kids say the darndest things”.

 

This video just always puts me in a good mood and makes me happy. I hope you enjoy it to!

So I absolutely love snow days. You get to sleep in and go sledding and play in the snow. So yesterday when I found out that we had a snow day I was thrilled, until my dad came in and decided to wake me up at 8:30 to help him shovel the driveway. I did it, but not without an argument! We had about a foot of snow that we had to shovel, it was very tiring work. After that my dad had to go to work and i was all alone and ready for a relaxing day. My relaxing day consisted of catching up on the TV show 90210, which I had never seen before. In my opinion it was very well worth it.

I really love Jon McLaughlin right now particularly this song. I guess I sometimes think that nothing is going my way and that it’s never going to get better. Then I heard this song and it has really opened my eyes and it’s probably one of my favorite songs now. I hope it opens you eyes too!

I don’t think that there is anyway to know for sure until it happens, but I do believe that I have/ will be called to something greater in the future. I feel that I am being called to be a mom and also to help people in some way, yet I’m not sure how that way is at this moment in my life. I wouldn’t say that i am being called to be a hero but I think that I am definitely called to live up to the whole potential that God has planned for me. Potential that I cannot even dream of right now.

To be called to be something great in this lifetime would be a dream come true, it is something I never thought/or think could happen to me though, partly because I just think of myself as a normal average person. I guess that’s no excuse though. I’m not sure how I would act if I was called. I would definitely accept it though, if is was something good that is. I guess that I would have to wait until I was put in that situation because in my opinion I think we act different in different situations that occur. I hope that I can be fortunate enough to achieve my call someday.
